I think people just have their heads too far up their asses to realize that bands and artists will change their music over time, and that signing with a major label is done partly out of a desire to make money and partly to get their music out there to a bigger audience.

So go shove it, you indie elitists.
Monday, April 20, 2009

Hi. I haven't posted in here for almost three months. I feel compelled to now for reasons I don't entirely understand. Maybe it's because only a handful of people still hang around here, and I feel more comfortable posting only to that select few.

There's been some heavy stuff going on in Xangaland the past couple of months, and I think I should take this chance to bring some humor into the mix by being super shallow. Well, it's probably not very funny, but it's a great change of pace, right?

Normally, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (well, Fridays are debatable), I see this really cute guy on the bus when I go back to my apartment from Japanese. It was quite amusing last Monday and Wednesday because he ended up standing right in front of me (and I was sitting facing the right side of the bus, not the front) and I was pretty much able to stare right at his torso the entire time. On Monday, I actually thought that he wasn't on the bus, but then I looked up and saw his face, then looked down and saw his shoes. (How sad, I recognize a guy by his shoes, but in my defense, his arm was kinda blocking his face.)

Anyways. He wasn't on the bus today. Not too much of a disappointment. You can't be disappointed by these things. I did, however, see a cute shirtless guy on the way to the bus stop for Japanese. He was playing volleyball. It's times like that that I'm really glad that the temperatures are starting to rise. Then I remember about my overactive sweat glands and I immediately wish it was winter again.

I saw another really cute guy on the way to Japanese, but he elevated things from just "cute" to "hot." I've seen him a couple of times before. He's around my height (probably an inch or two taller) and wore a shirt tight enough to tell that he keeps himself in good shape. He's one of those guys who're a little short but they're very compact, and I have to admit that I find that very attractive. Why? I don't know. Throw in the hint of facial hair and I have to tear my eyes away before I look like I'm some kind of super creepy stalker.

So yeah. That was my afternoon told according to the attractive guys I saw.

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Something of a depressing day today.

Amazing how I'm still able to be affected by this, if only through everyone else.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

In reference to this post, an updated midseason TV show ranking:

1. Of course, that's not a problem for me as I've already voted by absentee ballot. Hence, I now have a gap between Shakespeare and writers studies and I don't like that very much. Bleh.

But vote! Vote! Go out and vote!

Monday, November 03, 2008

1750 days on Xanga and counting.

I haven't updated this thing in forever. I dunno. I guess I've been feeling like I have to update and that feels kinda blah.

Reading Cosmo for a sociology paper is pretty interesting, but it's not so cool when you can't even elicit reactions from people passing by. I mean, it's a guy reading a magazine targeted at women! Surely you can do something like make some sort of unusual facial expression if only to give me something to write about. Pfft, I can write more about the ridiculous content in Cosmo than the reactions people gave me at B&N, which was like... nothing.

I wish it was Thursday so I wouldn't have to worry about this paper anymore.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

1731 days on Xanga and counting.

Current rank of the awesomeness of the shows I'm watching this season:
1. You can't hate on Tina Fey as Sarah Palin.

Saturday, October 11, 2008

Persona 3 FES is pretty fun so far. It's an unusual RPG. Atlus' localization job leaves a bit to be desired, but hey, at least they brought FES over, right? (Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, please!)

I think I'll go see Choke this weekend at this other theatre in Bryan. Body of Lies really just isn't my cup of tea, not to mention that it seems like the reviews haven't been too favorable.

Must get to sleep early tonight. (And I bet you I won't. It felt amazing.

Plot twists abound on Ugly Betty! Totally didn't see the questionable paternity of Daniel Jr. coming at all. Alexis is the, er, father? Wow. Just wow.

I'm gonna be sad when Amy Ryan leaves The Office. Holly is such a breath of fresh air. It's great to see another dorky character on the show who compliments Michael. And is Jim gonna be the one to blow the whistle on Dwight and Angela?

Let it be said that SNL in election years is on the top of their game.
